EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (EU CBAM)

The EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is significantly reshaping the cost of carbon-intensive imports. Businesses are now required to purchase certificates priced against volatile EU carbon markets, creating material cost uncertainty.

We designed the Virtual CBAM Certificate (VCC®) to address market concerns surrounding the complexity of EU CBAM certificate procurement. The VCC® enables companies to fix EU CBAM costs today, providing greater certainty over cost exposure while retaining flexibility.

With the VCC® businesses can secure a fixed price of EU CBAM certificates ahead of time, reducing exposure to fluctuations in carbon prices linked to the EU ETS.

  • Secure your price in advance: Purchase VCC®s today to fix your future CBAM certificate costs
  • Seamless conversion: Each VCC® is exchangeable for an official CBAM certificate exactly when you want them
  • Flexibility built-in: Choose when to take delivery or resell based on your needs
